Sulzer Turbo Services (STS) on GE Fr 9E

In the morning, we visit one of the power plant which running 4 units GE gas turbine. This is my first time visit this particular power station. The people over in the station are very use with OEM. This is normal as after so long depending on OEM, What do you think, they have go through 8 major overhaul with OEM which OEM sign contract up front.

The strategy here remind my about my past experience when I am in KEMAS kinder garden. Anybody still remember we brush our teeth with tooth paste call COLGATE and we are so use with COLGATE even we call DARLY etc as COLGATE.

Their biggest fear is drop in performance of their machine as this is understand because it is everybody NO 1 KPI in this station. I should check with my principal what is happen on the performance of the machine after they do something on the client machine.

I been told, please correct me if I am wrong..all GE Frame type gas turbine are scaled from the same development concept and has been benchmark since 1950's

P.T Sulzer Hickham Indonesia (parts of STS) which have a workshop in Purwakarta (about 1 and half hour from Bandung) complete with special tooling or fixtures:

§Vertical Stacking pit, Balance mandrels, Portable Drilling machine, Run-Out tables, Lifting devices, Turning devices, Hydraulic Stretching Tools, Hydraulic pressing tools, moment weighing.

ABB 13DM Incoming Condition

The biggest success story of Hickham Indonesia on refurbishment rotor start with this rotor, ABB 13DM. The rotor drop during major overhaul because of overhead crane failure. As a result, the rotor bend. OEM come to help and they declare the rotor scrape. With the trust given to my principal as a result:

The rotor is up to today is still running in one of our power plant in Malaysia.
